Dust mites are tiny, eight-legged arachnids that are not visible to the naked eye. They feed on human and animal skin flakes and thrive in warm, humid environments. Common in households, they often reside in bedding, carpets, and upholstered furniture. While they don’t bite, their waste particles can trigger allergies in some people.

The warm and humid environment of bedding provides an ideal habitat for them

Dust mites can cause allergies through proteins found in their feces and body parts. When these particles become airborne and are inhaled or come into contact with the skin, they can trigger allergic reactions. Common symptoms include sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin rashes. People with asthma may experience worsened symptoms.
