FeNO test in Asthma, why is it done and how is it done

FeNO is used in patients with symptoms suggestive of asthma (e.g., wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness) when other diagnostic tests (e.g., spirometry) provide inconclusive results.

FeNO can help distinguish asthma from conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or non-eosinophilic bronchitis, which do not typically show elevated FeNO
